Neighbourhood policing

I would like to know your views on policing in the local community and about what you think should be the priorities for policing here in Northfield.

I would be grateful if you could spare a moment or two to fill in this survey to let me know what you think. It will be helpful when I meet with the Police to know your views.

Neighbourhood policing survey

Do the police in your neighbourhood make you feel safer?

Do you think that our neighbourhood policing teams should make sure people know how to get in touch with them more easily?

Should they find out what the local issues are that make people feel unsafe in their neighbourhood and ask them to put them in order of priority?

And when action has been taken should your neighbourhood police team let people know what is being done and find out if they are satisfied with the results?

What are the best ways in which the police and others should listen to, and work with, local people so that the public can have their say on how crime is tackled in their area?

Some members of the police teams are Police Community Support Officers. In December the Government gave them more powers. Do you agree with these new powers? Do you think PCSOs should have the power to:

Require name & address for anti-social behaviour?

Require surrender of alcohol / tobacco / drugs?

Issue penalty notices for littering / rubbish / dog control?

Seize vehicles (eg mini mopeds) causing alarm / distress?

Remove abandoned vehicles?

Stop & search in authorised areas?

Are there any other comments you would like to make about neighbourhood policing?
